Digital Bolex have announced that their D16 is available for pre-order from today forth. But be quick about it if you want to (pre)order one! This first run will consist of 500 units and will have a delivery time between 8 and 12 weeks.

Also -as a special introduction- Digital Bolex grant readers of NoFilmSchool.com a reduction of $100 off the regular price using the code ´nfsreader13´. This code will be valid thru December 20th

The D16 is a retro-styled camera with a 16mm sensor. It'll record in 4:3 2.3K RAW onto its internal 250GB SSD (or 500GB, which is an optional upgrade) in the 12-bit 4:4:4 CinemaDNG raw file format. It'll also record 16:9 1080p, 720p or 480p, all in CinemaDNG from 25fps to 90fps.

In stark contrast to the Blackmagic camera's - the Bolex is equipped with two (proper) microphone inputs: true XLR's. The lens mount is interchangeable from C-mount to EF, PL, Micro Four Thirds and a Turret C-mount.

I'll not get into the specs of the camera any further, all specs can be found on the Digital Bolex website.

If you want to read up on the Digital Bolex D16 in the field - NoFilmSchool has posted a two-part review on the D16 camera.
