The first footage from the Blackmagic Design URSA 4K Camera has hit the web. John Brawley was handed an URSA PL mount version to shoot with. And so he went to the beach.
Here's an exerpt from what he has written about it:
Although I've been involved in other behind the scenes testing at BM, this was the first chance I've had to take a camera out and do my own thing.
This clip was shot over a period of about 90 mins. I filled three of my four 128Gb SanDisk CFast 2.0 cards and did it on two Vlock batteries. Many of the shots were done before sunrise. Pretty impressive for 400 ISO @ T4 at that frame rate.
In conclusion - the footage looks great! Shot at 4K with 60p and then conformed to 24p for the slowmotion looks wonderful. The only thing I'm personally wondering about is how workable is the URSA when shooting on your own.
